George Skurtu

Senior Vice President for Operations

On December 1, 2023, George Skurtu transitioned to Peninsula Services from Peninsula Alliance, where he now serves as the principal deputy to agency President Ron Modkins within the Operations Department. In this capacity, George directly oversees the Grounds Maintenance Division and plays a key role in managing other essential business lines, including ServMart.

George’s leadership is driven by a passion for personal development, business growth, and mental health advocacy. His new role aligns with his long-standing dedication to improving lives and fostering leadership within the organization. Beyond his professional commitments, George is actively involved in community service, regularly organizing fundraisers for suicide prevention and awareness—highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the workplace.

One of George’s key achievements has been successfully leading the integration of the Textile Recycling Division into Peninsula Services. This strategic move, now fully completed, enhanced operational efficiency and reinforced Peninsula Services’ commitment to providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. By uniting these operations, George expanded the division’s reach while fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity in the workforce.

George’s dedication to environmental sustainability is evident in his leadership of the Textile Recycling Division, which prevents over 5 million pounds of clothing from entering landfills each year. This initiative reflects his personal commitment to sustainability and supports Peninsula Services’ broader goal of environmental stewardship. By reducing waste and conserving resources, George is helping to position Peninsula Services as a leader in both social responsibility and environmental protection.

His guiding philosophy—“Influence through questions, inspire through action, and live with intention”—shapes his approach to leadership, emphasizing collaboration, positive change, and meaningful contributions to both the organization and the community at large.
