Donald Knight, CPA

Director of Finance

Don Knight, CPA, MBA, is the Director of Finance for Peninsula Services, where he leads the organization’s financial operations with a focus on accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability. In this role, Don combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to Peninsula Services’ mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

A native of Spokane, Washington, Don earned a B.A. in Business Administration and an MBA from Eastern Washington University, followed by a Master of Accounting from Washington State University. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Washington.

Don brings more than a decade of experience in public accounting, specializing in nonprofit organizations across both audit and tax practices. His career also includes service as an Internal Revenue Agent with the IRS, where he conducted examinations of individuals, corporations, and nonprofit entities. This experience gave him a rare perspective on federal oversight and sharpened his ability to navigate complex regulatory environments—skills he now applies to ensure Peninsula Services maintains the highest standards of compliance and stewardship. Before joining Peninsula Services, Don founded and led Don Knight CPA PLLC, advising individuals, businesses, and nonprofits on tax and consulting matters.

Beyond his professional career, Don is dedicated to personal growth and community service. An accomplished powerlifter, he has held four state records, a pursuit that reflects the discipline, resilience, and focus he brings to all areas of life. Don is also committed to giving back to his community, regularly volunteering with a local food bank ministry. These personal passions mirror the same values that guide his work at Peninsula Services—integrity, perseverance, and a belief in the dignity and potential of every individual.
