Gedunk

GeDunk is the agency’s latte stand now located in the USS Turner Joy Gift Shop. Previously known as Peninsula Perk, the latte stand began as a training site for participants, some with very severe disabilities. Motivated adults who have learned appropriate work behavior and basic skills in Peninsula Services’ programs now have the opportunity to take a step toward independent, community-based employment.

At GeDunk, participants receive valuable experience working with the public, study for and obtain food-handler permits, learn the preparation of a wide variety of beverages as well as practice money handling skills.

In previous locations, participants have served employees and visitors of the Worksource offices on Sylvan Way and then at the Frances Hadden Morgan Center, both in Bremerton. Customers have said they are pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service and high quality of beverages they find at the stand and the participants gain confidence and skills in a supportive working environment.
